It may be September but we’re still going strong. What’s on the calendar???
Thursday, September 3, 11am – 2:30pm
Esoteric BBQ Food Truck
From 11am-2:30pm, Esoteric BBQ will be at the CTC Park dishing out BBQ with a Pacific Northwest twist. Mmmmm BBQ. Like Esoteric on Facebook and follow them on Twitter to stay in the know.
Thursday, September 3, 3pm – 7pm
Vancouver Farmers Market
From 3pm-7pm, the Vancouver Farmers Market will be open for business at CTC Park. Local businesses like Aichele Farms, Bonker Farms and Packer Orchards and Bakery will have fresh fruits and vegetables to take home. Try some honey bourbon aged chevre cheese from Skamokawa Farmstead Creamery. Or pick up one of Conan’s Hot Sauces & Marinades to add some zing to your culinary creation – they’re all natural, preservative free and gluten free.
For dinner, grab something from the Mighty Bowl. They’ll be at CTC Park from 5pm-7pm and specialize in healthy, local and tasty bean and rice bowls. The bowls include brown rice, blackbeans, cheddra cheese, sour cream, salsa, olives, avocado and cilantro. They’re then topped with your choice of a tangy house sauce, sweet and mild peanut sauce or a spicy chipotle sauce. Follow Mighty Bowl on Facebook and Twitter.
Another food option is Getta Gyro. They’ll be at the Vancouver Farmers Market from 3pm-7pm. They’ll be serving up gyros – the traditional Greek dish that’s made of meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie, then placed in a pita or sandwich and topped with feta, tomato, onion and tzatziki sauce. There are also options for vegetarians. Finish off dinner with baklava – the pastry made with layers of filo that have been filled with nuts and stuck together with honey or syrup. Follow Getta Gyro on Facebook and Twitter.
These are just a few of the vendors you’ll find at the Vancouver Farmers Market at CTC so come out and support local businesses (and get good stuff!).
Short on cash? Buy tokens with your debit/credit card at the information booth and then spend the tokens like cash at all the vendor booths.
Friday, September 4, 8pm-ish
Movie in the Park
This is the last scheduled movie for the year so say goodbye to summer with the classic Back to the Future. Bring sand chairs and blankets and watch Marty McFly (aka Calvin Klein) the first time he time travels…all while under the stars.
Restroom facilities will be available at Movie Night.
A big thank you to the City of Vancouver for hosting Movie in the Park.
