Curtis Salgado’s an award-winning vocalist, songwriter and harmonica player who mixes blues, funk and R&B with a raw and heartfelt performance. Come experience the blues with someone who’s been perfecting his craft since he first played professionally in the late 1960s.
In 2013, Curtis won three Blues Blast Music Awards including B.B. King Entertainer of the Year, Soul Blues Male Artist of the Year and Soul Blues Album of the Year. During his career, Curtis has toured all over the world and played at festivals like Memphis’ Beale Street Music Festival and the Chicago Blues Festival.
And, if you’re still not convinced he’s a must-see artist, Curtis is the guy John Belushi modeled his legendary Jake Blues character after in the Blues Brothers! So grab a sand chair or blanket and let the good times roll!
If you came out for last weekend’s concert, you know that good food is just a few steps away when you get hungry. Goldie’s Texas Style BBQ is returning to serve up pulled pork, babyback ribs, mac ‘n cheese and all sorts of other tasty treats. Also making a repeat appearance is Ingrid’s GoodStreetFood. With dishes like chicken with kamut and butternut squash or a wrap filled with falafel patties, romaine lettuce and topped with a spread of roasted beet hummus, it will be hard to make a decision. Kilauea Shave Ice and Hot Dogs will give you a taste of Hawaii and summertime. And Humdinger Kettle Korn will have multiple flavors of their oh-so-scrummy kettle corn so whether you’re craving sweet or savory, you’ll find something good to munch on.
Restroom facilities will be available.
Next Sunday, August 16, is the last concert in the series and features Patrick Lamb.
All concerts are no charge and are held in CTC’s Central Park from 1pm – 3pm.
